CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

VINYASA & BEGINNER'S FLOW

Vinyasa (translates to “flowing with breath”) is a dynamic style of Hatha yoga which combines physical postures (asanas) with inhales and exhales to create a steady internal rhythm for the practice. These classes cultivate heat in the body through creative sequences involving sun salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, and focus on breath awareness.  These classes are for new and experienced yogi's.

HATHA YOGA

Postures are practiced to align, strengthen and promote flexibility in the body. Breathing techniques and meditation are also integrated. You can expect an emphasis on simplicity, repetition, and ease of movement. Full-body relaxation and balance are the goals as we make a full circuit of the body’s range of motion with standing postures, twists, backbends, forward folds, and hip openers.

RESTORATIVE YOGA

This class offers gentle postures and slow movement to settle the body and mind. As the yoga of non-doing, restorative yoga uses props extensively to support the body while relaxing into the postures.  Meditation and Pranaymana (breath work) techniques are also taught to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and activate our body's natural healing state.

TRADITIONAL YOGA

Traditional Yoga (8-Fold Path Practice) - This class leads you through the 8-Fold Pathway of Patanjali. Each class is a step by step methodology intended to help you take the practice of yoga on the mat to a full, vibrant practice of life off the mat. Each class will include a short study of the Yamas and Niyamas; Asana ,Pranayama (breath control); Pratyahara ( Sense Withdrawal); Dharana (Concentration); Dhyana (Meditation) and Samadhi (a state of Unity).
