About Mindful self-compassion
Mindful Self-Compassion focuses on changing the relationship we have with ourselves. During this deeply transformational 8-week process, we learn to turn towards our suffering with mindful awareness and kind attention- the same way we would treat a loved one. Through guided meditation practices, experiential exercises, and deep reflection processes, we will learn to meet challenging experiences, difficult emotions, old wounds, and our inner critic with open curiosity and compassion.
It’s important to know that Self-compassion is a skill that can be learned by anyone, regardless of the experiences we have had and even if it currently feels uncomfortable or unfamiliar in being kind to yourself. Participants in this 8-week group will learn how to recognize their inner critic and will take a gentle look at the ways we have been harming ourselves through overworking, overanalyzing, and overreacting as we move towards forming a kinder, more sustainable approach to life’s difficulties.
MSC consists of 2.5 hour group sessions for 8 weeks and includes an all-day retreat between sessions 6 and 7. As the material builds upon itself from session to session, commitment to attend all 8 sessions is expected and required. This commitment will support each participant in learning how to motivate our selves with kindness, help forgive ourselves, and experience less emotional discomfort after a shortcoming.
